Just curious, is there a way to save a twilight rendered model as a .fbx file?

Not sure if Blender can do that, worth a look. I know it can import them,

Can you imagine using something like the stainless Christmas tree (or some of Fletch’$ other neat render models) in MS Office application like in the video below :whoot:

BTW: Am I being a PITA with posts like this? :!

This feature appears to only work with very low poly information. Have you done any research on that?
The example stool has 1 material and 15,700 faces. My tree scene has 731,633

This tree would likely never import into that application, as SketchUp can juuuuust barely handle it. In fact my process is now that I must lower the poly count and fix some bad modeling/export issues... as seen in the little cubes.

No, we can not export Twilight Materials in FBX format out of SketchUp afaik - I see that it would be handy in order to bring it into the application above.

Do you make a lot of presentations with MS products? Is this a feature you would actually use in real life or it's just a "would be neat" kind of feature?

Unfortunately it is a “would be neat” kind of feature. As you, my laptop died so I can not do anything (at least at this poi in time). Maybe I am just being a PITA but I like to explore “no roads” for technology and this is just my latest curiosity that I think is interesting. Perhaps it is time for me to take retirement more seriously.

Several bad typos on my part (see highlights above):
- As you may know
- point
- leave “no roads” unturned (this one needs a little additional explanation - throughout my years in the technology industry I have looked for new ways to improve the way technology could be used to improve things. I was trying to see if SketchUp and Twilight Render could be used to put great rendered models like Fletch’s Christmas tree in MS Office applications)
