Jpost shared his model with us privately while asking a question about some materials not rendering correctly.
Turns out that the groups in the model were painted and not the faces.

But the reason I'm posting here is to demonstrate what happens when you add in good UV mapping - which can not be done if you paint groups instead of faces, only faces can have textures UV mapped properly to them.
Also it demonstrates the big change that can happen when texture colors are chosen carefully.

Whenever possible, it is encouraged to look at example or reference images for what you are rendering.
