Alphabet inspired sketches
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
Thanks @Mike1158.
It has been fun/interesting learning how to use the Skatter plugin and the sandbox tool. It was also inspired by Majid’s topic of this thread. His book was interesting and I designed the “Q” based on his inspiration. His book is really interesting and I have been trying to learn from it. I got sidetracked trying to learn how to use the Skatter plugin and the SU sandbox tool. Admittedly, I am not an artist but it is still fun to “try”.

Majid, this is just for you.............
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
WoW, I appreciate it and wondering how have you written the text. The plants are also amazing and very realistic!
Just realized the meaning of AIS... wow thank you I am overwhelmed!

Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
With the Skatter plugin you can add masks. With the mask tool you “draw” the mask and tfe can have different sizes/widths. I the used the path like a pen and created/wrote the letters.
Glad you enjoyed.
Yes it is a little off what we have been doing/working on. I got distracted with Skatter but it has been fun learning how to use it for AIS renders (still learning some additional features).
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
I realized that have dropped some initial sketches and they are not included in the book. Here is one.

Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
Boy! These should have been part of the book. I really like them.
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
. It is because when I started to jot down my thoughts and sketches, I was not thinking of managing the whole project. I was somehow messy. Then I started gathering sketches on a specific dimension of papers, and succeeding wrapping the job up.
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
My drawing skills need some more work. Here is my latest one which, again, really is like one of the ones in your book (page 33). As you can see, I need a lot of practice. I am going to pass on my X building for a while and try to learn how to sketch better. All that said, here is my latest attempt.
Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
Preparing more inspirational resources will help a lot.
And believe me; you can develop this sketch to an astounding result IF you prepare enough resources and inspiration. i.e. This one for the sloped parts:

Re: Alphabet inspired sketches
OK - here is my idea for my next AIS project. It is based on the letter X. Might take a little while to really come up with a SU model but thought I would share what I am thinking about.
