Toying with this.

Post by Mike1158 » Thu May 04, 2023 10:57 pm

I acquired a kitchen as a download from a model and texture site I visit.

The original is so badly dimensioned it drove me up the wall so I have been replacing everything one piece at a time.

This render also explores the LUT thing I looked at a while ago. I know but I am thinking on directions for the other more involved renders.

I have to admit that I wondered how or why, (When I got around to thinking about it) why a hdri would have a centre in the middle of a pool.

It took a while to realise fully what I was looking at, possibly the basement would be a triffle damp.

So, snow it is then.

Thanks folks.

No mate the table matches nothing but, it is an 'heirloom' item like mothers kitchen table. I have Sara'a mothers kitchen table still.

There is a distraction theory that states that one bug eyed stand out item hides a multitude of sins. When preparing for an inspection in my regiment, we would leave a glaringly obvious flaw so the inspecting officer would see that, tear folk a new broom closet and completely miss just about anything else that might not be up to spec. Once they felt happy they were little kittens.

The most extreme version was peanut butter on a toilet seat (Cleaned to an inch of everyone else's life). Inspecting officer would blow a fuse (What the H is THAT?) whereupon the responsible soldier would say "Not sure, Sur, looks lik %$it", poke their finger into the peanut butter and suck the finger saying, "Yep"! All in the eye of the beholder and you have to be quick on the draw to notice WHICH finger was sucked.

I suppose you had to be there.

I am trying to get the model improved as a good old style kitchen table is hard to beat as a kitchen centre piece. How many families still sit at the kitchen table with tea and biscuits, talking?

Mentioning the British royal family a bit, we had Princess Anne visit a fiew times and on one occasion we actually painted the mud green because "It's supposed to be grass'. PA got out of the helicopter she came in and strolled off to the officers mess and was heard saying to the CO, "Still going for the old create an illusion of grass by painting the dirt green thing then"?

There are no flies on her.

we used that old trick in architecture critiques back in school too. We called it the "gorilla arm" theory. Where a guy put a woman in the foreground and gave her one hairy gorilla arm. the whole discussion was about that instead of his design.
