Sideboard

Post by Zacchia » Mon Feb 22, 2010 1:07 pm

Just a simple Sideboard fixed on the wall i have sold. The colour should imagine a high glossy painting. This is a very common material in furniture buisness, for sure in Europe. This material should maybe also be a template. I applyed for this shiny plastic. This comes very close i think. Rendered with high+ in about 25 minutes.

Zacchia,

The AA on this needs some work as you have some jaggys going on. Also, floor material is far out of scale. The floor could also use a baseboard. Overall I think the reflections would look better if there was something in the scene to reflect.

or how about using a studio HDRi to fake the reflections.....

just use hdri as spherical sky, no other light sources then play with tone mapping to increase contrast.

:! Does this render got to the end at Hi+?
If you really want to create a scene with this you have to create a wooden mold fringe to separate the floor from the wall for a realistic looking. Maybe raising a little the angle of vision and use a light fixture on the wall, my ashetray at the left http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... 47ee642f36
and my Bonsai on top http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... 0c49391365
:shh:

And everything else Scott said :^:
If not... 8-)

Try the "Alternative AA" folder for better antialiasing. :^:

agree that either the High+ was not finished completely w/ AA pass, or when shrinking image to post, AA was somehow messed up.

This kind of Sideboard i use a lot and i have allways seen this Problem with AA. Alternative AA means better AA and also longer rendertimes?
