saving connected templates

I have created a new material in SU and have saved it with the other SU materials so that it is usable in other new models i make.
How do i get Twilight to always associate a certain template with that new material so that whenever i apply the new material to other models, Twilight automatically remembers the appropriate template, without my needing to retell it every time? i searched the manual but couldnt find an answer.

unfortunately there is a SketchUp Bug that does not remember these settings in the .skm material format the way it supposedly should. We, too, wish it were the way you propose... please contact SU and request them to fix this bug! Perhaps if they hear from enough people they will finally fix it.
