Wow, Oli, I think your perserverance has paid off, these closeup look fantastic How long to render?

not long, couple of hours or so at 1500 x 1500-interior+, the last one I just left overnight. My renders are slow because I am using windows through my mac...only half the power really. I added more light to speed up the render, using just hdri alone can be quite slow with progressive settings and the reflections weren't great.

indeed! people ask "can I get a stainless steel material"? and my response to say at first is... "which one?" but I know they don't want that answer.
it's like asking for an "Italian Chair", or have you ever tried to pick a White paint???
