Living room render

Post by fymoro » Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:09 am

Hi all,

Here is a render that I have done last night... :D
Interior+ preset, 56 passes in 7 hours. A little PP with Acdsee.
Furnitures and materials are from Evermotion, curtains are from the ware house here: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0
I know, it's still a bit noisy, I will let cook again and update... ;)

Ps: This file is very heavy, about 40meg, I can really see the difference between SU 6 and SU 7 last update, with SU6 it is quasi impossible to work on this scene, but with SU 7 last update, it's ok... :?

lovely work fred! fantastic mood! you are right SU7 is much better with large models. navigation seems much easier.

where did you get the sofas? they are great! how did you go about the background? is it just background centred image again?

Thanks,

Oli, I have these sofa for long time already, they are free from the web, but I have working a lot on them with 3ds max and then import to sketchup, and as always, have to work on them again...
About the lighting, Nothing special, I just used a Spherical sky from Kerkythea Website and you can see the parameter in the picture attached.

This is really nice! It has a really nice feel to it. I guess my only comments would be:

The TV is a bit blown out
There is something weird going on with the trees on the far left side of the doorwall. Not sure if it is a reflection from within the room or some clipping going on during the render itself.

Overall a really nice render. The lighting is spot on and the softening of the image is perfect. The attention to detail is great.

Well done.

Thanks Scott,

indeed, the reflection on the glass is because there is no back wall on this scene... ;) so the spherical sky reflect...
I have changing that and here is another render.

Great render, and thanks so much for sharing the model! The plant and couch are stunning... Is there a reason the teapot and cups on the table are (partly) face-me components?
Some say there are no stupid questions. I'm in the habit of proving those people wrong.
