Tattoo Machine

Post by rangerrick » Sat Apr 24, 2010 8:22 pm

This was a little project I did for my daughter who is a tattoo artist and has just opened her new studio. This tattoo machine is a close replica of one of her machines that I modeled in TurboCAD Professional then brought into SketchUp for rendering with Twilight. I rendered a number of images from various views at higher resolution where I will assemble them for creation of a poster for her shop. Here are 2 of them.

Wow amazing renders rick, and superb modelling. BTW, that's one goodlooking tat-gun! You must be proud of your daughter opening up her own shop (and I'm sure she's proud of you making renders like this :D )...

So are you gonna give us a link where we can see some of her work?
Some say there are no stupid questions. I'm in the habit of proving those people wrong.

i missed this!! beautiful work rangerrick!

what does the graffiti watermark overlay read?

materials look amazing, very well executed!!

Love the DOF and I do not believe it is too much, just opinion really.

how did you go about lighting this? hdri again? or another setup? just interested, the reflections look great and very natural :gj:

Thanks everyone for your comments :D

Soon, she is in the process of having a web site designed. I’ll post here when it’s ready.
how did you go about lighting this?
Yes, Oli, I used a hdri for illumination also with an emitter(right front) to help as a fill light.
The watermark overlay is her shop logo, here is a thumbnail.
