Classical living room

Post by fymoro » Sun Aug 08, 2010 7:54 pm

Hi all,

I found this 3ds file on the web, and I have decided to render it today.
As the file was too heavy for SU, I opened it with wings 3d to save one by one every furniture, decor etc... Once this done ( 3 hours later...), I have imported them into SU (what a mess...again...)
I have built the walls some parts of the ceilings, some floors, add some decor, etc...
And after mapping, texture, lighting (one hours), here is the result, 6 hours at preset 09... Hope you like it... The final file is about 92 mega, I will share it in the red carpet resources ASAP...
PP: Neat image , ACDSEE Pro.

Fletch, I have followed your advise for the light color rgb(230, 225, 204) thanks again... :D

that is STUNNING! Great work, Fred! :rspkt:

The only tiny thing I would find to critique would be the segmented circle on the base of the column on the right in the foreground... should be a circle, not an octagon.

It's always such a joy to see your work...!!

Although I agree that it's segmented I don't agree that it should be a circle...
Looking at the image where you got your inspiration from, it doesn't look like a circle...

I think first image is also render. ;) There is definitely something not right about column base. I have never seen corinthian column base like that.
Nevertheless I still think the render is great, very convincing.

Looks like you are missing the cove lighting (the lighting up inside the edge of the recess in the ceiling)

Also, in the original render you can see strong colors used in the cove light, and off to right behind camera a blue light was used to highlight the column in the foreground... artistic lighting can take even a great render like this to a new/higher level. ;)
