•Installer searches for SketchUp 8 by default

i guess this is not true. It will install on 7 on my 2 machines.
Windows XP, Arcon VA HausDesigner Professional, SketchUp Pro, CasCADos 2.0.551, TheaRender, TwilightRender

I beg your pardon. It is true.

The installer is designed to install to the last location you installed to, unless you have uninstalled. This is a convenience feature. If you have never installed, or uninstalled first, it will default to the SketchUp 8 location automatically.

OK, I now understand.

I last installed the previous version under SU 7 and for SU 8, I only copied all my plugins (including Twilight).

I was not going to even mention it (as I wanted to install it under both anyway so at least once I would have needed to change the path) but I am now glad I understand.
