twilight render for bonzai3d

Post by tetrochuan » Sat Dec 25, 2010 9:46 am

hi there,

i dont know how many of you sketchers out there know bonzai3d - its worth a look!!!!
would be überawesome if the guys behind twilight render decide to make it also work for bonzai because for now there is only the integrated renderer which suc.s and a plugin from maxwell.
could be big business i think

greetings

I think I know what the answer of the Twilight Render team will be...

The bonzai3d.com web site was a temporary site. The bonzai3d information is now included within the formZ.com web site:

http://www.formz.com/products/bonzai3d.html

(Thus your graph above is not representative...)

We are listening.
So far we have had 3 requests for a plugin for Bonzai3D.

The Maxwell plugin does not require a lot of programming, as it's exporting the scene to an external render studio.

What is special about Twilight is that it is fully integrated into the SketchUp modeling workflow experience.
The amount of work involved is not comparable.

It's a Search Volume Index graph. It shows how popular certain search terms are... It's based on the number of times a term is searched for in Google. A good indication of popularity. It's not URL related. Anyway, here's a graph replacing bonzai3d with formz and also replacing "google sketchup" with just "sketchup" as almost nobody calls it by its full name.

As you can see, it makes a lot more sense to develop a render plugin for SketchUp than for FormZ. SketchUp's popularity is orders of magnitude above. That's why I have lost track of all the render plugins available for SketchUp today. It seems that every other month a new one crops up. It's just a huge market. If the Twilight team ever decides to venture into developing a renderer for another software, Revit and ArchiCAD look sweeter than FormZ or Bonzai3D.

Well, not quite as popular as SketchUp (most likely because there is not a free version) -- but there were still 18,000 searches in the last 24 hours:

Image

It's really a quality modeling program. Almost as easy as SketchUp -- and creates good solid models that don't have to be rebuilt when fabricated or exported to other programs (which was my biggest problem with SketchUp.)

Also, all the help and videos are integrated right into the program -- so there's no need for searching. Just right click on the tool and select Manual -- or Video to see how the tool operates.

If Twilight was available for bonzai3d, I know my firm would buy it. And I bet this is true for a lot of other companies!!

(Does this count as our request Fletch -- or are there "official channels" to request this that we should use?)

Ok, great! Thanks Fletch!

(So do views for this thread count as interest too? ;) )
