Post by Rohganthompson » Fri Jun 21, 2013 3:10 pm

So, i'v started this beach house, its going well just a few things (Haven't finished applying texture etc) but i cant get the Actual sun rays to match up with the sun in the image, any tips to make it at-least a little more aligned?

I don't know if you know that Sketch Up has a Shadow box preferences at Window menu where you should tweak the hour and day of the month
Now seriously, with this camera position and taking into account the plant on the right side, the shadow should fall on the door on the same side,
but with a lower sun. Sunset or sunrise usualy create more softed shadows.
Did you check this tip? http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewto ... 502#p20502

By the way; nice render

P.S. I know, you going to change the material of the counter for more contrast with the floor!!!!

SU 8 Pro has a set north angle tool to help in tweaking sun position. But it's not easy in SU, sometimes you just want to grab the sun and place it exactly where you want it.
Looking good so far, and agree with Posodrac.

That's closer.
I'd change the color of the sun to match the image.
