Exporting: Creating a Translucent Background of Image

Hello, I'm fairly new to rendering/Twilight and am wondering if it is possible to save rendered (furniture) images in a picture with the "background" as translucent? When I open the JPEG from Twlight V2 in Photoshop, the entire rendered image comes through - including the white background- opposed to just the content (furniture). I did not create a background plane in Sketchup, only the content: furniture. *I had hoped by NOT creating a background or floorplane, this would allow only the images that were created (furniture) to be recognized as shapes/content and not the entire picture. Thank you for your time!

First, the JPG format doesn't support transparency at all.

You will have to render a "mask" image and use that in photoshop to mask out the background. Express -> Advanced -> Alpha Mask

For highest quality results, render your Alpha Mask at twice the resolution of the rendered image.
The Alpha Mask is the best choice, but after rendering your image, you have another choice in order to get the alpha channel.

In Twilight Render dialog, where it is still showing your rendering and you haven't changed your camera view.
Go to Pull-down menu: Render>Save SU view
When you save, choose .png file type!
When you open that SU view in a photo editor, you will see it has rendered with a transparent background.
In photoshop of course you control-click the layer's thumbnail image to select the pixels on the layer, and hit the mask button icon, and you have your mask.

Thank you as this has been most helpful. I'm fairly new to rendering/Twilight and wanted to ask what is a good setting to select for creating a translucent background resolution (twice the resolution)? In the standard process, I have been selecting "low"... and for a couple of tests, opted to try Interior (higher). In regards your response (as I have not tested the alpha mask process yet), is there a suggested resolution size for this task? Thank you!

then, open in image editor, resize to match size of rendered image.

In regards to "Go to Pull-down menu: Render>Save SU view, When you save, choose .png file type!".... I only have jpeg option, no png file option. I'm running on SU 2015/Twlight V2 both are 64 bit. Is there a way to navigate to get to png?

Only jpg is available for the Hobby version. Saving as JPG will most likely work just fine.

saving as .jpg will not save transparency.
saving as .png is pro feature only.
