Export a file with only the dimension lines and a white background and combine them in a image editor (you can use the dimension image as alpha mask in that image editor).

Agreed. You can't render dimension lines directly. Applying the right style and exporting from SU, then combining in a post pro (Darken Only or something similar) is the best method.
