Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
Dylan, these are fantastic renders! The gif is really smashing me. Hopefully I will remember your approach next time I sit in front of a blank SU window not knowing what to model next, to get on with my twilight learning.
I love the simplicity in Tadao Andos work and learned a lot through your thread. Just a few days ago I walked by a japanese bookstore and saw a book about Zen in the window and had a few thoughts about Minimalism and how I could find a way to better understand architecture. Thank you for another piece to my puzzle
Equadorian, thank you for feeding me back in here, I didn't know much about Tadao Ando - what you're pointing out is really encouraging. What Oli is saying gives me hope too - maybe my quest is fruitful some day with the help of you guys.
Wish you luck WardNL!

Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
Beautiful render, Dylan It all looks so photoreal, excepting the water bottom mat. It still has some apparent tiling.
Fix that and I'd be convinced this was a photograph.

Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
Well if anyone has a suitable pebble type texture that is seamless, send it may way and I shall render it once more
Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
Your wish is our... gravel.
Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
I ran another render with the new texture Fletch provided above.
It seems to have sorted the tiling problem.
I ran a high pass filter on this one, hopefully it brings out a little more detail.

haha that looks so good. I wouldn't know it was a render! but is the sky lower quality? you can see some distortion in it? maybe im wrong
what setting did you use for glass right at the end? has a nice green hue
amazing scene

Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
hey.... really like this render, it's just like a photo. One thing I'm sure of is the cloud at the back, I would pick a clear sky, but that's my opinion.
Re: Pulitzer Foundation - Tadao Ando
The sky is Treeline 2007, supplied by Twilight and in the resources. It is high quality as far as I'm aware.
I think you are right about that cloud, but that is where it sits. The original photo I built the model from had much more cloud in the sky and is what I hoped for with the render.
The glass is just a pale green glass from my SU mats library of architectural glass with IOR 1.920.
