Camera target?
Camera target?
is it possible to see the camera target after it is placed? if not i would like to reqest some kind of marker be placed in the scene so one could see the target.
Re: Camera target?
Huh... that's weird. The first post says you posted this thread a week ago. But I haven't seen it until now! Weird.
Anyway... there are some changes coming to how framing, view, targeting etc is done in Twilight. Up to now it hasn't included any 'target' indication, but I agree that having it would be useful. I'll see what we can do.

Re: Camera target?
So I looked into this and there is kind of an issue.
In SU, the camera's target is always right in the center of the screen. It's just a matter of it's distance from the eyepoint (that effects the camera focus when rendering). So if I draw an indication of the target, it's always going to show up smack in the middle of the view and there is basically no way to tell how far away it is. So it's kind of useless...
I'm open to suggestions though if anyone can think of an alternative because indicating, somehow, what the focal point of the camera is would be useful.

Re: Camera target?
how about a section plane that can be toggle on/off in the camera tab of the render window? also there should be an option to set camera focal point without necessarily having it target that point because i usually want to set focus distance to an object that isn't in the exact center of the screen and camera target changes my view. i know i can hit the view back but??? maybe the "target camera" and "focus camera" should be split into two seperate things.
Re: Camera target?
The section plane is an interesting idea. I'll take a look but I'm skeptical. SU's programmatic control of section planes is not great.
As far as your request, the next version will have a new tool to provide a lot of view controls. Setting the focus distance based on a non-centered point it part of that.
