I do appreciate the crit. No worries.
I used Ceramic Porcelain for the wood. No bump but I am running another with some now. I did not consider that. thanks.

if you are re-rendering anyway... tiny round corner or bevel on edge of chess board perhaps?

Yes maybe (however I have one running now) but I have all the light square as a component as well as the dark. So really only 2 are modeled. I would have to explode them all to round just the outer edge of the board. But seeing as I am at home being nurse for my wife I have the time ;)

Ok, here is the final. I tried rounding the upper / outer edges of the board but the Round Corner script kept locking up. I even let it run while I went to get groceries but it never budged past .02% No matter, I think the board looks fine as it is. I added some other goodies to the rendering and changed the lighting just a bit. I think I am done with this one. A fun exercise indeed.

Very nice.
The rounded corners on the table and chair makes so much difference.
The glass looks amazing, which template is that Eric?

Dylan, the glass is Realistic Glass Common with an alpha of 1.
The liquid is Realistic Glass Diamond with an alpha of 31.
