Re: Courtyard
Miguel,
Are you talking about the one under Tech--> 1) Photon Map?
I can't seem to find Alternative AA?
Here are a couple quick playful renders.

If you don't have that folder, please make sure that you're using Twilight 1.0.19

Re: Courtyard
I checked I have 1.0.19 and don't have that setting. Do you think it's because I just installed over and did not uninstall when I upgraded?Ecuadorian wrote:Express > Advanced > Alternative AA.

Re: Courtyard
Hey guys, new to Twilight here! I just have to say that the pillow in your rendering is amazing. I am an interior design student and am working on my senior project. Is that just a texture that you put on your pillow? I would really appreciate it if you could upload the image on here and show me how you got so much texture. If I could get my interior pillows to look like this.... WOW.
Thanks guys,
Alex

Re: Courtyard
I can post the pillow and texture here. I think I just picked a generic-->flat template for the texture and added a bump value to it. I'm assuming you know how to add texture to a shape like this?
Let me look up the model and I'll post it here.

Re: Courtyard
Ok, here is a closeup rendering of the pillow texture using exterior daytime progressive render setting for about 1.5 minutes.
You can see the texture and model will need work if you want to use for closeups but should be effective for room shots.
I will say that I'll tell you how I did it but every other Twilight user on this forum gets better results than I do maybe they will chime in with better advice!!!

Re: Courtyard
i'm still working on the bump thing. When you say you added a bump did you mean that you inverted the texture in photoshop and then added it in the materials box from twilight?
Re: Courtyard
Here is a shot of the material editor. I always browse to attach it to the real texture. I don't know if this helps but sometimes sketchup textures look too pixelated. Notice the two highlighted filenames, they will be in the next post.
I used a Bump value of 100 it was the first one I tried and it looked effective enough. You could definitely tweak this.

Re: Courtyard
I downloaded a texture with a displacement map already. I used maxwell for a couple years, basically paying to beta their software. So, I use MXM gallery site alot. It's usually the first place I look for textures for things smaller in scale.

Search for Red Wool by Reaversword.
Attached in the zip file are lower resolution versions of the originals, I used these in my renderings.

Re: Courtyard
the displacement map can be used in the bump channel in Twilight, only it won't displace, but should look great in mid-ground to distant shots. It will look nice close up, but not right on top of the pillow as shown here.
I am guessing I would start by using the material template Paint>Satin.
